Located in the Timbavati Game Reserve, Bateleur Safari Camp is a simple, eco-friendly camp with exceptional wildlife and a focus on walking. The camp merges seamlessly into the surroundings, constructed to minimise its ecological footprint. 7 spacious safari units, 3 of which are orientated to family stays, feature A-frame roofs, canvas sides with large windows and roll-down flaps, double wooden front doors and large en-suite bathrooms (some have an interior bath tub and a private outdoor shower). Each has its own covered patio. Family units sleep up to 2 children sharing with parents. Central spaces comprise a covered, open-sided wooden deck with a lounge and dining area overlooking the riverbed and seasonal waterhole. A swimming pool allows guests to cool off, between exciting game drives, whilst still keeping an eye out for the game and birds which frequent the waterhole. An open-air boma is the ideal place to relax around a central fire, at the end of the day. Adjacent to this, is the camps’ outdoor barbeque area and pizza oven, where the chef creates wholesome meals over an open flame.
