Nestled in a beautiful spot on the Khwai River, amongst a riverine tree line of sycamore fig trees, Machaba is located in the game rich Khwai area of the eastern Okavango Delta, overlooking the Moremi Game Reserve. The wooded thicket is the perfect habitat for leopard and abundant wild dog and from your tent, you can watch game wandering down to the river to drink. Privacy, spectacular river views and comfort are the hallmarks of this traditional Hemingway-style safari camp, all enveloped in a layer of warm hospitality. Perched on the edge of the Okavango Delta, Machaba Camp offers the dual advantage of viewing large wildlife populations and exploring the tributaries of the Delta’s outer reaches in a mokoro canoe. Located in a community run concession, on the edge of the Gomoti river system southeast of the Okavango Delta, the area is known for its large concentrations of wildlife which thrive on the Gomoti plains and waterways. Often referred to with a touch of nostalgia, the Gomoti region has been a well-kept secret with many of the local guides and Okavango dwellers, who used to camp along this river system in days gone by. Gomoti opened in early 2017, and its name was inspired by the gomoti trees thriving on the banks of the Delta’s waterways! Occupying a private concession exclusively, Gomoti is located only a short distance from the renowned Chitabe Camp, famed for its predator sightings. The camp comprises of only 10 luxury tents, including two family tents, spaced well apart and raised on wooden decks. A classic and elegant look abounds in each tent, where billowing canvas, crisp white linen and earthy tones combine.
